The World Matchplay is due to take place between 19-27 July, 2025 with Luke Humphries aiming to defend his title from 12 months ago when he saw off Michael van Gerwen in the final.
The annual pilgrimage to the Winter Gardens every year is always one to savour as Blackpool welcomes darts with the tickets selling out continually in record time in the iconic venue. The 32-player field this year will compete for £200,000 top prize at the Winter Gardens.
As well as Humphries, Luke Littler who will be favourite to seal the title also returns this time around. As will Van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, Peter Wright, Gary Anderson, Nathan Aspinall and Stephen Bunting.
The sessions begin every night at 19:00 BST and will last until around 23:00 BST. The only exception is the afternoon sessions with 1pm start on the Sunday. It also will start at 8pm from the Quarter-Finals onwards. In the UK, the tournament will be shown on Sky Sports.
It will be shown on Sky Sports+ and Sky Sports Main Event, the latter starts a tad later. Sky Sports Action will also show the tournament on Tuesday night but usually with the top matches at the end of the night, the feed is then taken onto Sky Sports Main Event too.
Elsewhere, it will be shown in Netherlands, Poland, Norway, Denmark, Bulgaria and Baltic States on Viaplay. DAZN show the tournament in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Sport1 also show the event in Germany. While Fox Sports are set to show it in Australia and Sky in New Zealand. With their groundbreaking partnership with Peacock and NBC, the USA will also show the event as part of a new deal with the platform.
Elsewhere Nova in Czech Republic and Slovakia, Prago Sport in Hungary and VTM in Belgium also show the darting event seen as the second biggest on the darting calendar.
