Hughes eased past Lisa Ashton in a 5-1 win which saw him claim an early lead against Ashton who didn't play her best till the latter part of the game.
Hughes was very strong in the early going going 2-0 up on Lisa Ashton and was averaging just under 100. This was consolidated with a break of throw with two 180's and double 10 with a 13-darter to make it 3-0 and go half-way towards the finish.
Ashton finally got off the mark at 3-1 down but a third 180 and double 16 for an 11-darter put him one away from victory and despite a 160 set up from Ashton to put the pressure on the Tipton ace but he hit double five in a clutch finish to win.
Durrant hit a 180 to begin the tie but missed two darts at double which allowed Schindler to punish with a 68 finish but he made it one apiece after Schindler himself fluffed his lines.
It went along with the similar lines with Durrant producing a 132 checkout to make it 2-2. Schindler went one away from there as Duzza's double trouble continued.
Despite that though, Durrant went one behind with an 84 checkout for a 12-darter and a 4-3 deficit and he improved his stature with Schindler squandering two match darts and Durrant took it all the way.
149 missing double 16 but he hit double eight third time around to win in a decider after Schindler was well back.
