Brendan Dolan and Danny Noppert have eased to the first victories of the second day of action at the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton.
Dolan and Noppert both claimed their first victories in the tournament; after not having the best start to proceedings yesterday; they both throw the result of their respective groups firmly up in the air.
'The History Maker' started proceedings by hitting back-to-back legs to go 2-1 up; he extended that lead quickly to 3-1 up with a second 180 to hold throw.
Dolan made it four consecutive legs in double quick time as he lead 4-1 and went one away; from there he made it five to claim victory over Veenstra who once again did not produce his best by any means.
Noppert started poorly missing two darts at doubles and this allowed Warren an early break of throw but this wasn't consolidated as Warren did the same allowing Noppert through.
'Noppie' went on a tear going 3-1 up taking three straight legs with an 81 checkout as he broke throw again to go towards the finishing line.
The finishing line is what he reached with a 5-1 win and a 97 average to boot against Wayne Warren, after being edged out by Ryan Harrington yesterday the Dutchman will be very happy with his efforts.
