Michael van Gerwen will not continue his European Tour dominance this evening in Prague and will not add one of the only titles on his resume which has alluded him.
Luke Humphries the only other winner alongside Gerwyn Price that is not Van Gerwen this season on the European Tour has accounted for him again at the Czech Darts Open like he did en route to winning in Munich last month.
While not as emphatic, it is still a victory nonetheless for Humphries who sealed it 6-4. 'Cool Hand' gained early breaks in the contest but Van Gerwen hit back every time.

In the fifth leg, he took the lead for the first time with a 14-darter but Humphries hit back with a 16 and 14-darter to take the lead again. Van Gerwen missed a shot to make it 4-4 and Humphries went 5-3 up which proved pivotal as despite MVG hitting back, Humphries sealed it with an 84 finish.
He will next face Jose de Sousa who triumphed in the other Quarter-Final 6-2 over Rowby-John Rodriguez ending the run of the Austrian ace who again showed his quality this weekend.
