The first Quarter-Final is set at the
Belgian Darts Open in Wieze with Luke Humphries set to face Nathan Aspinall later this evening.
Humphries opened up proceedings by slaying 'The Beast' Andy Baetens, who has emerged in recent weeks like Berry van Peer as a man on form outside of the top 128.
He showed that again this weekend with a run to the Last 16 and nearly continued that excellence.
He missed a match dart after coming back from 5-3 down which saw Humphries pin a 104 checkout to go one away, but in the end 'Cool Hand Luke' survived.
He hit double 18 for the win and will now face Aspinall who in doing so averted a potential third straight defeat to Danny Noppert.
Aspinall saw off 'The Freeze' 6-4 to move through. Similar to the previous game, it was all about closing it out.
Aspinall went 4-2 and 5-3 up on Noppert including a 127 on the bull to go one away but Noppert held to ask the question of Aspinall.
That he answered with a 56 checkout as Noppert could simply shave 100 off 164 and could pressure only.
