After the next two Super Series, the World Matchplay field will be confirmed with Adam Hunt still having a chance to qualify.
Hunt has been exceptional over the past year and he discussed what the turning point was for him notably a superb performance against Damon Heta on the European Tour in Sindelfingen.
"That was sort of the start for us when I started playing well that game against Heta. The two Euro Tours I played pretty well, I think I lost out to Rob Cross that weekend if I remember right. I played well against him as well. It was a great win against Damon because I think he was the most in-form player who wasn't a seed at the time," said Hunt on the Weekly Dartscast.
Reaching top 64
As a result of this brilliant form, Hunt found his way into the top 64 which was a goal but he didn't realise how important his good run of form was.
"That was my sort of goal. I didn't realise how much significance the back end of the year was to be fair. I made pretty much most of my money from the back end, to do it all in three months, I realised if I do this again I can get myself up the rankings."
World Matchplay aims
For Hunt next, it's the Super Series and he has another goal in mind with a Winter Gardens berth potentially on the horizon.
"That's the main goal, I'm quite close. If I have a good two weeks, who knows. That's definitely my goal though."
