Stephen Bunting will make his first appearance on a World Series stage since 2014 when he finished as a runner-up to Phil Taylor at the Sydney Darts Masters. He is relishing his return with it being a real showcase of all the hard work he has put in to get to this point.
Bunting meets Daniel Larsson in his opener on Friday night in a year which saw him become a major champion winning the 2024 Masters in Milton Keynes. He will also play next week at the 2024 Poland Darts Masters in Gliwice. He has benefited from the likes of Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler deciding not to play over the next two weekends.
With a busy time coming up including ProTours, the World Matchplay then the World Series Down Under, it represents a time for rest for some top players. As well as a real chance for the likes of Stephen Bunting to showcase his talents.
"I'm so excited to be back," admitted Bunting. "I've put a lot of work in over the last few years to try and get myself back in these events, and my efforts have been rewarded.
"I believe consistently I'm one of the best players in the world now. I'm playing really well and hopefully I can show that in Copenhagen.
"I feel really confident, but Daniel Larsson is a very good player. He's got a lot of experience on the European Tour so it will be a tough game, but I hope I can bring my A-game and get over the line."
