Those watching
Fallon Sherrock at the Grand Slam of Darts would've thought it was the last time 'The Queen of the Palace' was appearing on a big stage in 2022 until the recent announcement of her inclusion in the PDC
World Darts Championship.
Sherrock was involved at the Media Day pre-draw with Cazoo ahead of the tournament and spoke about her Grand Slam of Darts campaign first of all.
"I will take a lot of positives from it, the scorelines didn't reflect how I played I felt. I think if I'd have hit a couple of doubles, the scorelines may have been a little different and games might have changed. Especially against Alan (Soutar), I felt after the two 180's, you can still do it then he took the 132 out," said Sherrock to
Tungsten Tales.
But going into another World Championship, two years on from her exploits in gaining worldwide acclaim, Sherrock believes the games have got harder due to players bringing their best.
"They've actually got harder because I don't get people's B games now, I get their A games which I find is a compliment as it shows they respect me.
"People know I can win rather than they don't think I can win. That's quite cool to be honest and when they say good luck and give you support, it's genuinely because they believe you can still pull it back and win a game even when I'm 3-0 down. I can do it and it's getting the atmosphere back and adrenaline running again."
Going from deflation to elation, Sherrock said how she found out about her spot at the World's from her manager.
"My manager rang me an hour before and told me to turn off my phone before I went on social media. So then obviously told me and I got so excited.
"I went through all the emotions going to New Zealand thinking I'm safe then thinking oh I might not be safe missing out in Germany and going to Wigan and be disheartened about not making it to be told I am in."
As well as speaking about how Beau Greaves' run wasn't a shock and that many in the game her included have seen it coming.
"I definitely weren't surprised. Beau is an asset to the game, she's a great player, she always has been. There was no surprise from the top players, whatever she is doing at the moment is working brilliantly. I'm really interested and I'm excited to see how she does."
