Gerwyn Price has credited his strong Premier League Darts form to a striking development outside the oche. According to “The Iceman,” the recent purchase of a farm has given him a major mental boost.

The Welshman was the standout performer on Night Nine of the Premier League in Manchester. With averages of 103.54, 112.91, and 105.84, he defeated Luke Humphries, Stephen Bunting, and Gian van Veen in succession to claim his second nightly title of the campaign. Thanks in part to that run, he now sits third in the standings.

“I always wanted a small farm”

Afterward, Price offered insight into the backdrop of his performances. Just hours before taking to the stage in Manchester, he completed the purchase of a plot of land measuring around 200 hectares.
Speaking on the Double Tops Podcast, he said: "I wanted to finalise this for a few months and I probably drove the lawyers completely crazy. I just wanted to finish it, so I could put it behind me and concentrate fully on my darts."
The sense of relief had an immediate impact. "It was finished around five o'clock this afternoon and then I thought: great! I'm going to play well today. And I did." Price also laughed about the scale of his new asset. "I've always wanted a small piece of land, but I don't know if 200 hectares is actually a small piece of land. I pulled out all the stops."
The Welshman also revealed that his living situation has been a distraction lately. He lives next to his own fish and chip shop, which sometimes leads to unusual moments.

He recalled with a laugh how a customer even took photos of his car: “Yeah, with a flat tire as well. It’s my old motor, which had been sitting on the drive for months.”

Race for the play-offs remains fiercely tight

Despite his surge, Price remains vigilant. With the play-offs approaching, he knows any lapse could be costly with the chasing pack behind relishing a chance to pounce. "It's not certain yet that I'll make the play-offs, so I have to keep playing well week after week."
His approach is clear: "If I can pick up two points every week, which is my goal, then I'll win a bonus."
