Thursday night the Premier League contenders are in Berlin for the second night of play in the 2024 Premier League Darts.
Michael van Gerwen and Nathan Aspinall will open the second night's action, before Michael Smith and Gerwyn Price face each other in their respective quarter-final. Luke Littler meets Rob Cross in the third match, with Luke Humphries and Peter Wright meeting in the fourth quarter-final. Later in the evening are then the semifinals and finals.
Ex-Premier League star turned analyst, Wayne Mardle seems to give Wright little chance of a good result in the German capital. ''Wright is in a right old state. He cannot seem to put anything together. Had something going at the Masters, but then it all went wrong," 'Hawaii 501' reflects to William Hill. "He got annihilated by the eventual winner Stephen Bunting."
The 50-year-old Englishman predicts the weekly title will go to Luke Littler this time. ''I went for Rob Cross last week. I'm not going for him this week. I like Littler," he says. "He played great last week, but got beat by Michael Smith in the semi-final. He averaged 105, played brilliantly. I think the new kid on the block can take the spoils in Berlin."
Mardle hedges his bets when it comes to predicting the man Littler will beat in the final however. "Probably Michael Smith or Michael van Gerwen. But Littler for me is the one to beat. Last week he was an absolute chore to beat, but I don't think he will get beat in Berlin.''
