Michael van Gerwen achieves a fine milestone during Thursday night's performance in Berlin. 'Mighty Mike' will appear at the start of an evening in
Premier League Darts for the 180th time, according to darts statistician Richard Ashdown.
Van Gerwen made his debut in Premier League Darts in February 2013 and missed only two rounds of play since then. In 2017, he had to miss one round of play due to an injury, while the 34-year-old Dutchman missed out on placement for the playoffs in 2020.
The seven-time Premier League champion played 226 matches in his career in the prestigious darts competition. Of those, 145 were won and 58 lost, while Van Gerwen also drew 23 times. From 2013 to 2021, it was still possible to draw in the Premier League Darts.
Weekly mini-tournaments have been played in Premier League Darts since the 2022 edition. In both 2022 and 2023, Van Gerwen managed to take three weekly titles. Then Van Gerwen also won the playoffs both times, having previously been the best in the Premier League Darts in 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
