"I have played one event in Blackpool and bagged £1,000": Duff on opportunities afforded by Seniors compared to PDC for over 50's

Neil Duff crowned himself winner of the WDF World Championship at Lakeside in 2022. Since then, he has been trying his luck mainly at MODUS tournaments and the senior circuit.

The 51-year-old darter may never make the move to the PDC. On World Seniors Darts socials, Duff says he sees plenty of other opportunities within darts to pursue his work.

"Never had a go at it yet and to be honest with Modus Super Series, the Seniors and ADC now growing in a big way, I'm happy enough doing what I'm doing. I'm so grateful to WSDT and Modus, I get to play in the best events and get proper TV time. Maybe before I retire I'll have a bash at it for the experience."

The senior circuit is open to darters over the age of 50. Players with a PDC Tour Card cannot compete in these tournaments because the PDC prohibits their players from participating in other organizations' events that are broadcast in any way. Duff argues that it is better for some PDC players to turn their backs on the organization.

"Absolutely. I won't mention anyone by name, that wouldn't be fair but all you have to do is look at their earnings from securing tourcards. Some of these guys were making more money before that with regular Super Series and Seniors events. I have played 1 WSDT event in Blackpool and bagged £1000. A few senior players with cards are struggling to make that at a pro tour weekend. If that happens to be Germany it doesn't make financial sense. I was actually surprised there weren't 1 or 2 tour cards handed back in January," said the current WDF world champion.
