Simon Whitlock sealed a superb opening win to kick off the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton against Mensur Suljovic with 'The Wizard' dealing with an injury which was revealed on the Weekly Dartscast earlier in the week.
Whitlock spoke post match about dealing with that and how it has impacted his form and practice.
"That was great compared to last few weeks and months struggling with an injury, that was fantastic. I got bursitis on my right heel which is really painful but I just put up with it," he said to Online Darts.
"I haven't practiced much at all, just instinct and determination. It's hard work. I haven't been doing well for the past few weeks but I'll take this one."
"I'm always positive even with an injury I'll try and play my best. Sometimes it's good to have an injury because you don't care and you play your best darts."
