Rob Cross came back from 2-0 down to produce a superb display and defeat Adam Gawlas for an opening group win at the Grand Slam of Darts but despite that, he admitted that he has frustration in his game at the moment and at times a lack of motivation.
"I'm really frustrated with the game at the minute because I feel like I'm playing so well. I go up there and to be fair, I don't care. I still want to wear my heart on my sleeve and perform. 2-0 down I thought to myself what are we going to do here and all of a sudden, a nice 11-darter. I knew as soon as I got going, I had a grip of the game, no disrespect to Adam. He's a good player but he seemed very edgy today," said Cross to Online Darts.
"When you're seeing better things and you're coming out and not producing you just think I'd rather give it away when I'm like that. If I'm not playing, I'm not interested. Maybe I expect a little bit more of me now."
"I think I've been rubbish the last two years. I want to compete at the highest level and I had an 18 month spell where I wasn't interested, the mind wasn't kicked in but now it is and now I want to produce. We get there but it's obviously not in that game."
