Luke Littler has been pushed hard by the likes of Ryan Meikle, Ian White and most recently Ryan Joyce in the last 16 at the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship. Despite this challenges though, 'The Nuke' has passed every hurdle, and is now set to face off against Nathan Aspinall in the quarter-finals at the Alexandra Palace on this New Year's Day evening.

John Part, a two-time winner of the PDC World Darts Championship (in 2003 and 2008) and also once winner of the BDO World Championship at Lakeside, has been impressed with how Littler has handled himself in the challenges posed so far this tournament. "He's been serious at the right moments," Part explains to Sky Sports. "That last nine-dart attempt he had (against Joyce ed.), there was no show of emotion, no playing up to the crowd, he was focused and he got the leg won in 12 darts."

"He really is the full package in terms of ability and poise," the Canadian darting icon continues. Yet Part does also place a caveat to his praise of the 17-year-old sensation. "He's not unbeatable. I promise you he's not unbeatable. I'm not saying he's going to lose, but the right performance can beat anyone. It's all about timing in darts as we say again and again and again."

"Luke, you can't let your guard down for a second! Because people will take advantage of that," Part adds in conclusion, mentioning how these early tests could actually benefit Littler in the long run. "He's been tested all year long in different events and he's won those, or come close in others. But on this stage now, where it all began for him last year, he said himself that it's a whole different thing. At the Ally Pally, at the World Championship, it's huge he had that sort of match (vs Joyce ed.) and came through it. If he was going to stumble or fall, it would have been there, but he played one of his best sets in the decider, so that really speaks well of him."
