"I think he bought this ring to propose to Steve Beaton but I'll take it…" - Wedding bells ring for Abigail Davies and Dan Dawson at German Darts Championship 2024

Last weekend, the ninth round of the 2024 European Tour was completed in Hildesheim, Germany. The overall win at the German Darts Championship went to Peter Wright, who was too strong for Luke Littler in the final 8-5.

For Abigail Davies, the 2024 German Darts Championship will always be remembered extra fondly. After all, the British TV presenter was proposed to by fellow darts presenter and commentator, Dan Dawson.

Initially though Davies was more than a little confused. "I think he bought this ring to propose to Steve Beaton but I'll take it…," Davies joked via her official social media pages. "Of course it happened at a Euro Tour."

Dan Dawson has become one of the faces of PDC darts in recent years

The 32-year-old presenter became extremely popular on social media recently. Especially after she openly comments about her own mental health and problems that she suffers from with anorexia. An expert at her craft however, Davies has used frequently by TV companies across sports such as darts, pool, football, snooker and more.

By the way, the German Darts Championship was the ninth tournament of the 2024 European Tour. Incidentally, for the aforementioned Beaton, it was the last European Tour tournament of his career, after he lost 6-4 to Dylan Slevin in the first round. Beaton indicated earlier that he will put a stop to his career at the end of this year, he did not manage to qualify for the last four tournament of the European Tour.

The win at the German Darts Championship went somewhat surprisingly to Peter Wright. The 54-year-old Scot had not performed particularly well this year, but finally showed signs of improvement last weekend. In the final he won no less than five legs in a row to beat Luke Littler 8-5.

The European Tour continues next weekend in Antwerp. The Antwerp Expo will host the Flanders Darts Trophy from September 6 to 8.
