"I think there are very few people who work so hard" - Dominik Fischer backs compatriot Max Hopp to regain place among darts' elite

The first block of the Challenge Tour 2024 ended last Sunday. Max Hopp was one of the participants and showed his skills here.

For example, he managed to play an average of 100.16 in his match against Alexander Merkx at the fourth Challenge Tour tournament. Thanks to this, the 'Maximizer' defeated the Dutchman 5-2 and made it through to the last 32. German player Dominik Fischer experienced first-hand what Hopp is capable of when he met the big name in German darts at the Q-School on the third day of the First Stage.

"My first opponent was Max Hopp," Fischer explains on his YouTube channel. "Max played really well, of course. He was unfortunate at times, but he still performed very, very well."

"Max got into the match very, very well," said Fischer, summarizing the start of the match. Hopp's first throws in this match were 140 and 91 points and the first leg went to the 'Maximizer' with a 16-darter. The second and third legs also went to Hopp in 15 darts. "The fourth leg also went to him with 20 darts and that's a great example of what it takes to be one of the best players ever. You really have to say that the Q-School that Max played, especially in the first stage, was really strong. Max is a really good player."

Of course, Fischer was also aware of how 'hotly debated' it was whether his compatriot would manage to get the Tour Card back. "Anyone who says: 'Totally bad' or: 'He doesn't deserve to be on the Tour'... I think there are very few people who work so hard and that's just a really strong performance. Anyone who thinks they have to criticize that has to question themselves first," concludes Fischer.
