After a fine comeback victory over Krzysztof Ratajski, Kevin Doets is through to the last sixteen of the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship. 'Hawkeye' survived four missed match darts from 'The Polish Eagle' before defeating the Pole 4-3 in sets.
In the second round Doets pulled off a huge upset by defeating former world champion Michael Smith 3-2. Against Ratajski, Doets started the match badly, but he managed to raise his level just in time to continue his tournament. "I think it's the experience I've had over the last two or three years. That has helped me. The experience has saved me," Doets said after the game for Viaplay's camera.

"When I get behind, I start throwing better," Doets explained of his rebounding. "I'd rather that wasn't the case, but it is. I don't want to say I had already given up in this match, but I did think I had already lost. I'm very happy that I won. And proud. I was down 3-2 in sets and every leg after that was very difficult.'"
In the fourth round of the World Darts Championship Doets will face Chris Dobey. 'Hollywood' has shown in recent years that he feels at home on the Ally Pally stage and has reached the quarterfinals the last two editions.
Nevertheless, Doets sees enough opportunity to advance another round. "If I combine my good play with perseverance, I say good luck everyone," Doets said later during his post-match press conference. "I'm not saying I'm better than everyone else, but it will be difficult for the rest. If I keep doing this, I can make it to the semifinals. Minimally. You have to have that self-confidence, too. I can say I might not win my fourth-round match against Chris Dobey, but that doesn't help you, does it? I could lose to Dobey, but I don't think so."
