Another team has been confirmed for the 2021
World Cup of Darts which is set to take place in Jena in September with
Lourence Ilagan set to partner Paolo Nebrida for Team Philippines.
Ilagan and Nebrida took part in a qualifier on Saturday which saw the finalists make the team. 'The Gunner' saw off Ian Perez 2-1 in sets 1-3, 3-2, 3-1 to automatically qualify.
While for Nebrida, it was a lot more of a simpler equation with a 3-1, 3-1 success winning 2-0 in sets. A familiar name on the PDC Asian Tour, he will get his first taste of PDC stage action.
It will be the fifth time, Ilagan has played in the tournament back to 2012 when he partnered Cristian Perez, they were due to play again together in 2013 but withdrew before he partnered GIlbert Ulang in 2015.
The team returned after Alex Tagarao played with Ulang in 2016 to play in 2019 and 2020 with the rise of both Ilagan and Noel Malicdem with performances at the World Championship and both years despite being touted as dangerous, they have lost to England in the first round.
