This Thursday night in Manchester, Michael van Gerwen and
Luke Littler face each other for the second consecutive week in
Premier League Darts.
Littler managed to capture a weekly title for the first time last week. 'The Nuke' did so after beating Van Gerwen in the semi-finals, before Littler was also too strong for Nathan Aspinall in the final.
With this weekend title, Littler moved up to second place in the standings. ''Winning in Belfast gave me a lot of confidence, and it certainly showed that practice does pay off,'' said the 17-year-old Englishman in conversation with the PDC.
Littler is eager to grab a second weekly title in Manchester. ''Obviously I’m not far from Manchester myself, and I’m a Manchester United fan, so it would mean the world to win in front of this crowd on Thursday.''
The reigning world youth champion realizes that a tough challenge awaits him, however. ''I know it will be tough. Michael brings the best out of me and I certainly bring the best out of him. We know he’s not on top form, but he’s always got those other gears to turn it on, so I'm just focused on winning my first game and trying to get some more points on the board."
