"I’m in the best position and the best form": Price having best Premier League Darts run of his career heading into Rotterdam

Fresh off the back of claiming his fourth night win of the season last week in Brighton, Gerwyn Price heads to Rotterdam full of confidence and surely set for a first appearance in the Premier League Darts play-offs.

“I’m in the best position and the best form I’ve probably ever been in during the Premier League, so things are looking good,” the 2021 World Champion told the PDC's official website. “I need to keep playing well and make sure I get in the Play-Offs for the first time, but I'm also chasing Michael van Gerwen for top spot."

It's one of darts biggest mysteries how someone as supremely talented as Price has never managed to reach the play-off stage of the Premier League before. Twice finishing just outside the top four in fifth place in 2019 and 2020, Price famously hit two nine-darters in one night during last year's campaign so it's not as if he hasn't had his moments.

“There’s five weeks to go and I’m fully focused. I'm really looking forward to Rotterdam," Price continues before eluding to his plan to get the Dutch crowd on side. “I'll be wearing a special orange shirt which hopefully will go down well with the Dutch fans!”
