Draw and schedule confirmed for 2023 Austrian Darts Open including Van Gerwen, Humphries, Wright and Michael Smith

The draw and schedule has been confirmed for the 2023 Austrian Darts Open which sees the first of two forays in the next few weeks out of Germany for a European Tour.

Famously this tournament features the green jacket for the champion with Michael van Gerwen winning three out of the last four stagings.

He saw off Danny Noppert last time and he will return again looking for his first European Tour of the season.

He will open up against either John Henderson or Dylan Slevin. Top seed Luke Humphries and recent Munich winner Michael Smith will also headline the line-up.

Humphries faces either Daryl Gurney or Mickey Mansell, while Cameron Menzies or Ricardo Pietreczko await Smith.

Austrian aces Mensur Suljovic and Rowby-John Rodriguez will star on Friday against Ricky Evans and Ryan Meikle. Raymond van Barneveld will face Brendan Dolan in another intriguing appearance for the doyen of Dutch darts.

Masters champion Chris Dobey faces Czech qualifier Vitezslav Sedlak who makes his return after being a home hero in Prague last year.

Peter Wright could face Suljovic if the latter overcomes Evans, while Dirk van Duijvenbode faces either Rodriguez or Meikle.
