"I'm sure the PDC will get a lot of money from Asia for this" - Vincent van der Voort believes nine Asian World Championship spots is far too much

From December 15 to January 3, the PDC World Darts Championship will take place at Alexandra Palace. Nine Asian players who qualified through a variety of qualifying tournaments will participate there.

In the podcast "Double Top," it was cited that nine places for Asian players does seem like a particularly large number. "It is good that there are many different nationalities in a field of 96 players," said Vincent van der Voort, who incidentally has not yet qualified for the upcoming World Darts Championship.

"But nine Asians is a huge amount, which is almost ten percent of the total field of participants. I'm sure the PDC will get a lot of money from Asia for this," Van der Voort laughed.

Currently, with Christian Perez, there is only one Asian Tour Card holder. "But he hardly plays tournaments. I understand that too. If you live there, it's almost unfeasible to travel back and forth every time. The financial costs are so high that you almost always have to throw money at it and that can't be the intention."
