Chris Dobey is among the eight players allowed to compete in this year's Premier League Darts. 'Hollywood' had an excellent start to this prestigious major by immediately reaching the final on the opening night. The next two days of play, however, he went straight to the quarterfinals. Dobey is currently sixth in the standings. Still, he does not doubt himself, more so, he thinks a (new) major title is coming soon.
Dobey went down 6-1 on opening night in Belfast in the final against Luke Humphries. The next two days of play followed quick defeats against Humphries again and Michael van Gerwen. Tonight in Exeter, he takes on Nathan Aspinall in the quarterfinals. Dobey hopes to score points here to move up in the standings.
"I feel like I haven't done a lot wrong," Dobey said to Oche. "I got off to a slow start over the last week against Michael (van Gerwen). Trying to put that aside and just keep playing your game, it's hard. But I feel my game is there and it's not too far away. Fingers crossed things can turn here."
Dobey has been doing great at floor tournaments in recent months. "You need to create your own luck, it's not about luck. I think I'm playing myself into some good form. It's turning that floor form back onto the stage and trying to mix them both together. Soon as it does I'll start winning more than I lose and I'll start heading towards winning TV titles."
Walk-on
The 34-year-old Englishman has long had "Let's Get Ready to Rumble" by PJ & Duncan as his walk-on song. However, he is thinking about changing that and made an appeal via social media to send in suggestions. "There have been so many that have come in but who knows I might keep it, it's whether it suits me and works for me. Until I get that test run of that walk-on, I might test it in Minehead. Who knows there could be a new one."
"It's something new and it's moreso for the crowd to enjoy it. If they can enjoy themselves and get something from my walk-on, it might push them to get on my side."

🌟 Chris Dobey could dump Ant and Dec’s ‘Ready to Rumble’ to get more fans on side in the Premier League jungle.
