Thursday night the fourth round of the 2025 Premier League Darts will be played in Exeter. Michael van Gerwen travels to this city of play knowing that he managed to win Night Four every time in recent years.
Since the 2022 Premier League Darts, the PDC has organised a mini-tournament on each round of play, in which the eight participants compete against each other in an elimination format. Thus, a weekly winner emerges each week and points can be won for the rankings.
So in 2022, 2023 and 2024 Van Gerwen managed to win the fourth week of play each time. In 2022, the fourth round of play was also held in Exeter, and then "Mighty Mike" captured the weekly title with victories over Jonny Clayton (6-1), Michael Smith (6-2) and Peter Wright (6-0).
Dublin hosted the fourth week of play of the Premier League Darts in 2023, and then, too, Van Gerwen prevailed. He dealt with Chris Dobey (6-3), Jonny Clayton (6-3) and Gerwyn Price (6-5).
The fourth week of play of the 2024 Premier League Darts took place in Newcastle, where Van Gerwen once again collected the weekly bonus of 10,000 pounds. Back then, the Dutchman won over Gerwyn Price (6-4), Luke Littler (6-5) and Nathan Aspinall (6-4). Will Van Gerwen manage to maintain his run Thursday night and win the fourth week of play again?
🇳🇱 Michael Van Gerwen has never lost in Week 4 since the PL format changed to a nightly tournament.
