"It's a big milestone": Van Peer reaches Last 16 of European Tour for first time at German Darts Grand Prix

Berry van Peer produced another superb display on the European Tour stage seeing off Josh Rock 6-3 to reach the Last 16 for the first time with his German Darts Grand Prix campaign continuing.
"It's a big milestone. I was losing like second games and I was like I want to win that second game once at least and I got it finally. Score well, finishing well so yeah I'm looking forward to tomorrow (Monday)," said Van Peer post match.
But despite that, he knows he can do better with his doubling superb but his scoring in his opinion not at his top level yet.
"I had some moments where I took a little bit of time but I think besides that it was a very nice game to watch. I enjoyed it a lot and the result was towards me so I'm happy with that."
"Depending on my scoring game, I know I can score a little bit better than I did today. It's a lot of 100's but I want 140's and 180's. That's the only thing that's missing."

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
