Speaking before the final of the PDC World Darts Championship, PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter sat down with TOTO Dart Kings to discuss the new initiative which has seen Dutch players such as Michael van Gerwen benefit from having a chef, biohacker (mental coach) and a taxi to and from the venue.
Fans have also benefited with a pub adorned with the TOTO brand and he discussed the importance of having the building blocks in place to get the players ready before they take to the stage.
"I think it's important for players to take a professional approach towards all aspects of the game both on and off the oche. A lot of them are already a long way down that line with management and other help but anything that can take them along that journey is good," said Porter to TOTO Dart Kings.
"The names in the team are the names you would expect. I think it will be interesting to see who joins it in the future."
"I think anything that helps the players prepare for the game in a way that makes them comfortable for when they get on the oche. For some players it will be their food, for some players it will be their sleep. For other players it will be their travel."
