After helping to guide South Africa Into the knockout stages at the World Cup of Darts, Devon Petersen is hoping it will springboard his own personal form after a disappointing few months.
“It’s no secret that I’ve been struggling this year,” Petersen told the official website of the PDC after he and partner Vernon Bouwers secured a spot in the last 16 with wins over Spain and Iceland. "Obviously playing for your country is a big thing, and partnering with a class player like Vernon Bouwers is phenomenal."
“We’re through and we’re still unbeaten. Winning this World Cup would be amazing for our country back home," continues the talismanic figure in African darts. "We’re one step closer to that trophy.”
In the last 16, South Africa will take on the impressive French duo of Thibault Tricole & Jacques Labre after they eased through their group in impressive style.
