James Wade into sixth career Grand Slam of Darts Quarter-Final after dispatching Chris Dobey

James Wade is successfully into the Quarter-Finals of the 2023 Grand Slam of Darts after dispatching Chris Dobey joining Josh Rock who won earlier in the night.

Wade sealed a 10-8 win over 'Hollywood' which could've been a lot simpler as he went 9-5 up and Dobey added the pressure, but 'The Machine' fell over the line to reach a sixth Quarter-Final in the tournament. He hit a 94 average, four 180's and 43.5% on doubles in an accomplished win.

Two missed darts in the opening leg from Dobey as Wade hit a 71 for an early break. He followed it with an 86 checkout to go 2-0 up.

Dobey got off the mark with a 106 checkout and 110 checkout to make it 2-2. He led 3-2 at the interval but on return, Wade took control. He hit a 103 checkout to break throw and go 4-3 up.

Wade at the next interval led 6-4 up. Before Dobey hit back with a 133 checkout to make it 6-5. Wade again surged ahead with a break at 8-5 with an 82 checkout before going one away at 9-5.

Dobey though like alluded to made sure that Wade wasn't going to ease through and he went 9-8 down at one point. But despite busting match darts, Wade was allowed to seal the win with Dobey unable to take his chance.
