The
Players Championship returned with a bang last week, as three events were contested in quick succession — providing plenty of drama, standout performances, and big paydays.
James Wade led the way, not only picking up a title but also topping the earnings list across the three tournaments.
Wade, known to fans as The Machine, claimed victory at Players Championship 19 with an impressive 8–3 win over compatriot
Scott Williams in the final. The win netted him £15,000, and with solid runs to the quarter-finals of Players Championship 17 and the last 16 in PC18, he boosted his overall haul to £21,000 — more than any other player managed over the three events.
Hot on his heels was
Chris Dobey. Hollywood lifted the trophy at Players Championship 17 and followed it up with two appearances in the last 32, bringing his week’s total to £18,000.
Completing the top three was
Stephen Bunting. The Bullet stormed to victory in Players Championship 18 and added a last-16 finish at PC17, earning a total of £17,500 across the week.
Dobey & Bunting had a successful week on the Pro Tour
Just outside the podium spots,
Jermaine Wattimena had a strong showing with a runner-up finish at PC18, along with two additional match wins across the week, earning him £12,500, the most of any Dutchman over the course of the week.
Australia’s
Damon Heta also featured among the highest earners, banking £11,000 through consistent performances. Dirk van Duijvenbode and
Gian van Veen each secured £10,000, as did PC19 finalist Scott Williams.
Wessel Nijman (£7,500) and
Alan Soutar (£7,000) rounded off the top ten.
With three tournaments wrapped up in as many days, the Players Championship now takes a brief pause. The action resumes on Tuesday 8 July at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester, where Players Championship 20 is set to continue the thrilling 2025 season.
