Danny Jansen reached the second round at the
World Darts Championship on Monday afternoon after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Paolo Nebrida.
This after Jansen's year has seen him become a Tour Card holder, win a ranking title and at now play at the Alexandra Palace.
“It is crazy to think that one year ago I was thinking: ‘One day I want to be on that stage’ and one year later, I’m here,” said Jansen, who will play 18th seed Krzysztof Ratajski in round two.
“It’s a dream come true. I do my best, I enjoy every moment and it feels great. I’m really looking forward to the second round.”
