Jeffrey Sparidaans runs riot as Callan Rydz routed, Keane Barry edges past Stephen Burton in deciding leg

Jeffrey Sparidaans and Keane Barry are the opening winners at the 2024 European Darts Grand Prix moving into Saturday's second round in Sindelfingen with a rout for the former.

Sparidaans seals a maiden European Tour victory in his opening win and despite averaging only 90, he routed Callan Rydz and to coin a nickname, it was a Riot win for the Dutchman. He will face off against Josh Rock in the second round with Michael Smith or Raymond van Barneveld potentially lurking. Rydz in particular struggled on the doubles missing 1/5 on his attempts and his trademark doubling power struggled. While the Dutchman took his chances when it mattered most in winning 6-1.
