Jeffrey Sparidaans can call himself a PDC Tour Card holder for at least the next two seasons. On Thursday, he was the first player to win a Tour Card at the European Q-School.
Sparidaans reached the final after wins over Jacob Taylor (6-3), Maik Kuivenhoven (6-1), Owen Roelofs (6-4) and Jacques Labre (6-4), among others. Then in the final, he was too strong 6-2 for Ronny Huybrechts, who has a good chance of grabbing a Tour Card later through the Order of Merit.
For Sparidaans, it will be his first period as a Tour Card holder. With this status, he can participate in all Players Championship tournaments and the qualification tournaments for the Euro Tours. Through these tournaments, players can qualify for the major televised tournaments.
A tournament will be played every day from Thursday 12 January to Sunday 15 January. The four daily winners will receive a Tour Card. There will also be a ranking based on points that can be grabbed by booking victories. Through that ranking, 10 more players will receive a PDC Tour Card for 2023 and 2024.
