From February 15 to 18, the third edition of the World Seniors Darts Championship will take place in Purfleet, England.
Last weekend some qualifying tournaments for the WSDT World Championship were held. Among them, Canadian Jim Long managed to qualify for his debut. "It feels pretty fantastic," admitted Long after securing his place. "The seniors I played last year were always the weekend before I played MODUS so this trip was all about playing the seniors and I just wanted to play well."
Long becomes the third Canadian to participate in the World Senior Championship after David Cameron and John Part. Now he's qualified does any particular draw standout to him?
"I'm so thrilled to be at the Circus Tavern. I don't care who I play in such an iconic venue. Dave and John are both good guys and great friends of mine," he says. "But I mean, who doesn't want to play Phil Taylor, really? I would love to get the chance to."
At the World Seniors Darts Championship, players over the age of 50 are allowed to compete if they do not hold a PDC Tour Card.
