Ricky Evans is through to the last 16 for the second time in his career after he got the better of Mike De Decker 10-5. 'Rapid' never trailed in the match and had an average of 97. It caps off a good few months for Evans, who showed good signs as he reached the third round of the World Championship in December.

Meanwhile, Gian van Veen defeated Graham Usher 10-7 on board four. Usher managed to keep at the Dutchman despite averaging nine points less than his opponent, but van Veen was able to hold his nerve in the boisterous atmosphere on the outer boards.
