After his strong showing at the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship,
Kevin Doets deliberately stepped away from the oche. The Dutchman, who reached the last sixteen at Alexandra Palace, used the weeks following the world championship for a personal first. For the first time in his life, he left Europe, with Brazil as his destination. Not for darts, but for love.
The top darter visited the homeland of his new partner, Brazilian Bianca Rangel. Via
social media, Doets shared how special the trip was for him. It was not only his first introduction to Brazil, but also his first experience outside Europe. According to Doets, the trip delivered valuable impressions, ranging from meeting new people to the local cuisine, which left a deep mark.
At the same time, he was already looking ahead to what’s next. The focus is shifting back to the professional circuit, where Doets is gearing up for his first Pro Tour events of the year in Hildesheim. He indicated that his throwing arm needs to be 'de-rusted' after the trip, but expressed confidence he will be ready in time for the season’s resumption.
In footage he shared, Doets and Rangel were seen visiting several iconic spots, including the world-famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. The trip marks a new chapter in the darter’s private life, after he ended his relationship with Swedish Jaqueline Alpevik at the end of 2024. From that relationship, son Aiden was born a year and a half ago.
For Aiden, Doets still resides in Sweden. He previously indicated he does not rule out the country as a possible future representation at international level. That international character now seems to define his private life as well. After his win over David Munyua at the Worlds, Doets already made a light-hearted remark about it himself. With a wink, he said he “can’t keep his relationships within national borders.”
His new partner Rangel currently lives in Portugal and is five years younger than the 27-year-old Dutchman. For Doets, that poses no obstacle—quite the opposite. The trip to Brazil seems to have given him fresh energy heading into a busy darts year, in which he aims to build on his Worlds performance on the
Pro Tour.
