Kleermaker edges past Bunting on European Tour debut, King also through with closely fought victory over Pipe

Plaisier saw off Slovenian ace Benjamin Pratnemer who impressed in the World Championship against another player in action in this session in Justin Pipe.

Despite that it was the Dutchman who has gained experience on the European Tour with previous victories last year who won through. It was a match he led 4-2 but Pratnemer came back including with a 126 checkout which could have proved pivotal to tie it up.

From there a decider occurred which saw Plaisier win through taking out 21 when Pratnemer was sitting on 50. Gerwyn Price awaits next.

Kleermaker was a player many were looking forward to seeing on the European Tour and he had a good debut defeating Stephen Bunting in a 6-4 win.

The Dutchman averaged 83 and hit 2 180's but knows that he will need to tie his doubling up with only 6/19 against the World No.16. It was a match he should have won more comfortably with him streaking into a 5-1 lead.

He started to miss chances to win though and Bunting pounced on them to make it 5-4 in double quick time but Kleermaker finally showed up again in the end to claim the tie in a 6-4 win.

There was also victory for Mervyn King who saw off Justin Pipe also in a 6-4 win which also went the distance but it was the former who came through. The turning point came towards the end when Pipe planted it in double four going for double 18 and King punished with an 85 checkout on bullseye to win.
