Paul Lim will play at the
Bahrain Darts Masters when he takes on Gerwyn Price in the main tie of the first round as the
World Series of Darts returns to the Middle East.
"I've passed by Bahrain many times but I never thought I'd play in Bahrain anyway so I'm excited," said Lim in a pre tournament interview with Dan Dawson.
He also touched on the Asian Tour and how much the COVID-19 pandemic affected the growth of the game on the continent.
"We took a big hit, a lot of tournaments were cancelled. I used to fly 35 trips a year, now I probably only had two to the World Cup and World Championship so it's quite difficult. It's back to normal now so hopefully this pandemic is over and everything goes back to normal."
For Lim's own future though, he does see retirement in sight and said while not right now, it won't be far off.
"Sooner rather than later, I will be going away. It comes a point where at the moment I'm still involved. For the last couple of years, I start to think about it. I'm going to be 69 in a couple of days time. I reckon I'm going to think about it properly."
"If I ever feel that I'm not competitive anymore or have the urge to compete, I'll retire. I'd rather go back to cooking or fishing."
