Lennon and Webster produce brilliance en route to important victories at Grand Slam of Darts

Steve Lennon and Darren Webster have claimed important victories after losing out on the opening day over Wesley Harms and Dave Parletti respectively.

Harms went 3-0 up but despite that was pipped to the post by Lennon who produced a blockbuster 167 checkout to claim victory in the decider.

Webster was using his new points and smashed in a brilliant 125 checkout on his way to a 5-2 defeat of Parletti, who impressed at times but 'The Demolition Man' did it at the right times to claim victory.

Harms claimed first blood against Lennon hitting 76 for an early hold of throw and from there he picked out double three in order to double his advantage.

From 3-0 down though, Lennon ended up setting it up at parity and from there the match had turned as he went 4-3 up but Harms came back to send it to a decider and it looked like he had the impetus.

Despite that, Lennon produced brilliance by hitting a 167 checkout to claim victory over Harms who has his chances of moving through over.

Webster and Parletti started off joking and alluding to Watergate when they got onto the stage but when it came down to it, it was all business.

Despite that, it was the BDO ace that made the better stage smashing in a 110 checkout to claim the first leg. It was successive legs from Webster though with a 13-darter and this allowed a 2-1 advantage.

The best moment of the game though came during the next leg when Webster hit Bull, 25, Bull to move 3-1 up and despite Parletti going 3-2 behind, Webster ended up going to the brink of victory at 4-2 up and from there secured the victory.
