Steve Lennon has finally won through to the third round of the PDC World Darts Championship after dumping out Krzysztof Ratajski in a 3-1 sets win.
Lennon is into his fifth appearance at the Ally Pally in what has been a poor year but he showed none of the bad form winning through with a 91 average, six 180's confounding a 94 average, 40% on the doubles and four 180's from 'The Polish Eagle'.
Ratajski missed double 20 for a break and Lennon pinned double five to surge into the lead.
Ratajski missed bull for a hold and Lennon hit double 14 for a 2-0 lead and he was throwing for the opening set.
The Carlow ace made it 2/16 though as he had issues closing out the set and Ratajski broke on double 16 to throw for the decider.
Ratajski made it 2-2 on double eight but Lennon pinned double five with Ratajski sitting waiting for the set and it was 'Scuba Steve' who led.
'The Polish Eagle' soared though with a 132 using two bulls and a double 16 to break and go 2-0 up. He pinned double 10 to make it 1-1.
Ratajski straight for double 19 off a 98 for a break but went inside allowing Lennon back to hold. He missed double 16 for a 41 checkout to break but returned with Ratajski unable to make a dent in 118 and Lennon broke to go 2-0 up.
He missed double 20 for a 160 checkout to claim the set and he was nearly punished with Ratajski missing 152 on double 16. Lennon returned for the set on double 10.
A break for Lennon continued his brilliant display to lead the fourth set. Ratajski hit a 180 but that was only to pressure as Lennon pinned double 10 to make it 2-0 and go one away.
He pinned double 10 once more to secure the win and move through.
