Lewis battles back to deny Woodhouse, Engstrom silences crowd with Clemens win

The first round is complete at the European Darts Grand Prix with Adrian Lewis, Johan Engstrom and Danny Noppert finding their way through.

Lewis was facing off against Luke Woodhouse and in one of the most highly anticipated matches of the session, it delivered a comeback win for 'Jackpot'.

He battled back from 5-2 down sealing four consecutive legs to deny Woodhouse and will now face Jonny Clayton tomorrow evening in a session that will also include Engstrom.

'The Sweet Ferret' will again look to cause a shock when he faces the out of form World Number One, Peter Wright and he did his part in silencing the crowd this evening.

The Swede edged out one of their home heroes, Gabriel Clemens 6-5 in what was his first victory on the European Tour.

While UK Open champion Noppert sealed the deal in a 6-3 win over Karel Sedlacek and will face Michael Smith in a repeat of their final in Minehead.

In doing so, he hit a 92 average, three 180's and 6/19 on his doubles as 'The Freeze' battled past 'Evil Charlie'.
