Jamie Lewis has produced his best victory since his run at the 2018 PDC World Darts Championship coming from 2-0 down in sets to defeat Luke Woodhouse 3-2.
Lewis hit eight 180's en route in an excellent display after what has been a tumultuous year for 'Fireball' and now he sets up an all-Welsh showdown with Gerwyn Price next round.
Woodhouse had an excellent start to the tie taking the opening set without reply averaging 100.2 with 3/3 on the doubles as 'Woody' who himself had a great run last year stole an early march.
This continue as he hit a 101 checkout in the deciding leg to go 2-0 up in sets and towards the finishing line with a 97.5 average and 75% on the doubles at the time.
But that is when Lewis came back and began to mount his comeback. He wrapped up the third set 3-1 to halve the deficit at 2-1. Despite brilliance from Woodhouse in the form of a clinical 121 checkout, this continued as he suddenly levelled the tie up.
This resilience paid dividends as he smashed in two back-to-back 11-darters to claim a stunning victory.
