Meulenkamp comes from set down to dispel Krcmar and set up Double Dutch clash with Van der Voort

Ron Meulenkamp is through to the second round at the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship and with that an all Dutch affair with Vincent van der Voort after seeing off Boris Krcmar.

Meulenkamp was swept aside in the opening set but after issues with Krcmar's on stage conduct and a tense display on the doubles from the multiple Soft Tip World Champion, it spurned 'The Bomb' on to claim a 3-1 victory.

Like alluded to, Krcmar began the tie superbly taking the first set in consecutive legs with a 100 average with Meulenkamp having a poor start with a 78 average.

Meulenkamp began to find his range and was spurred on by seemingly being bothered by the conduct on stage of 'The Biggest' with complaints around the clicking of darts and he claimed the second set without reply to make it 1-1.

Krcmar missed a 113 checkout in the next set in a decider to go 2-1 up in sets and potentially towards the finishing line and Meulenkamp was back to clean up and pin double 19 to go one away.

Doubles were frustrating the Croatian with darts spurned at double 18 and double nine to go into a 2-0 lead that would likely force a decider.

Meulenkamp returned to make it 1-1 and went one away from there. He couldn't pin double three at 2-1 up but Krcmar wasn't able to make inroads on a 103 checkout and last dart in hand the Dutchman pinned it.
