Littler, Van Gerwen, Price all through Players Championship 21 openers as Humphries falls early

The second tournament of a double header of Players Championship action has begun with many of the top names already through to the second round in Michael van Gerwen, Luke Littler and Gerwyn Price.

Van Gerwen took down Lee Cocks 6-4 with a 91 average so not at his best but still through pretty simply. While Littler averaged the same in easing past Jamie Hughes.

Yesterday Littler won the title to make it two titles in 48 hours after also winning in Amsterdam. Price impressed with a near 102 average seeing off Mervyn King.

Dave Chisnall, Danny Noppert, Jonny Clayton, Stephen Bunting and Ross Smith among others are through. But Luke Humphries, Rob Cross and Chris Dobey are leading casualties thus far.
