23-year-old Hong Kong debutant Lok-Yin Lee has made a massive impression on the Ally Pally crowd. Reeling off 9 legs in succession to defeat former Lakeside finalist Chris Landman 3-1 at the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship.
Landman opened excellently with a 15-darter but missed two darts on double 15 in the next leg to extend his lead. Lee then threw out tops to move to 1-1 in legs. Both players then managed to keep their own leg so that in the first set an all-deciding leg had to be made to decide who could take the first set. In the last leg, the match was even, but in the end it was 'The Countryman' who took the lead with his eighth set dart to make it 1-0.

In the second set, it was Lee who gained the upper hand. Through a 19-darter in the first leg and a spectacular 118-finish on double 19 in leg two, the man from Hong Kong led 0-2. The 23-year-old also won the third leg with a 13-darter to level the sets.
Also in the first leg of set 3, it was Lee who had the better of the game and took the lead again immediately via a 62 finish. Landman fell completely silent and the debutant continued to throw stoically. With a 78-finish Lee took his fifth consecutive leg and the third leg also went to the man from Hong Kong. With this he was one set away from a small stunt.
Landman had plenty of chances in the fourth set to come back, but he couldn't hit the doubles either. Lee kept hitting his doubles and won this set 0-3, winning nine legs in a row and qualifying for the next round;
Lok-Yin Lee can enjoy one day off tomorrow before he will take on Northern Irishman Brendan Dolan in the second round on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 21.
