Luke Humphries managed to claim his third consecutive weekly title in Premier League Darts on Thursday night. 'Cool Hand Luke' triumphed 6-2 against Michael Smith in the final in Dublin.
Humphries is only the third player ever to have managed to take three weekend titles in a row in the Premier League. Previously, Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith managed this feat.
Van Gerwen won three rounds of play in a row during the 2021 edition. He then succeeded again in 2023 and 2024. During the 2023 edition Smith also won three rounds in a row. Winning four consecutive rounds has never been achieved. Humphries will get the opportunity to take the record next week in Belfast.
