Order of Merit update: Luke Humphries further consolidates advantage over Michael van Gerwen, Van den Bergh up to 7th after UK Open triumph

Luke Humphries may have lost to Dimitri van den Bergh in the final of the UK Open on Sunday night, but 'Cool Hand Luke' has significantly strengthened his first spot in the world rankings.
Humphries lost out in the fourth round of the UK Open two years ago, leaving him with only 2,000 pounds to defend. His final place in Minehead last weekend earned him 50,000 pounds in prize money. Michael van Gerwen meanwhile was defeated in the fourth round and as such, went home with just 2,500 pounds.
Tournament winner van den Bergh is back in the world's top-10. He started the UK Open as number 14 in the world, but now makes his appearance in seventh position. Right above him is Gerwyn Price, who lost his fifth spot to Rob Cross.
Damon Heta also makes his appearance in the top-10. His semi-final run moved him up to ninth place. That was at the expense of Jonny Clayton and Danny Noppert. The latter fell as many as six places back, as he could not defend his UK Open title from two years ago.
Ricky Evans also managed to reach the semi-finals, putting 'Rapid Ricky' now in 41st place. Mervyn King did important business in the Tour Card race, moving up six spots after his place in the last 16. The English veteran now holds the 58th spot and needs to make sure he stays in the top-64 of the world rankings this year.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
