Luke Humphries has already made it a trip to remember in the Big Apple even before a dart is thrown at the US Darts Masters with the World Number One and World Champion getting engaged to long-time girlfriend, Kayley.
Humphries popped the question on the top floor of The Edge which is the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere. It's suspended in mid-air so gives the feeling of floating in the sky with 360 degree views of the New York skyline.
Up 100 stories, Humphries certainly picked an idyllic setting to pop the question to his girlfriend. They showed two snaps showing the moment he popped the question and one showed them kissing. The other showed Kayley admiring her new ring over the New York Skyline. He has a son Rowan who was born in 2022 with his new fiancee´.
"A moment that I’ve been waiting to do for some time now.. just wanted to wait until that perfect moment," he wrote on Instagram. "Today was that time. up the edge in New York all by ourselves I popped the question, proud to say Kayley said yes!"
Luke Littler was among those to congratulate the pair on their good news. His rival wrote: "Congrats mate."
Max Hopp and Luke Woodhouse were also among the well wishers. The latter writing "Big congrats.". Whilst 'The Maximiser' put: "Congratulations Luke." Stuart Dallas and Liam Cooper who have played for his beloved Leeds United also responded.
'Cool Hand Luke' who has seen his life change after becoming World Champion will make his second trip to New York after making his debut 12 months ago.
He reached the semi-finals and will hope to win the tournament this time around after missing out on Premier League finals night. He will face former World Seniors Darts Master, David Cameron.
