Luke Humphries produces epic mid-match surge to set up Night 2 final with Luke Littler at 2025 Premier League Darts

Luke Humphries will face off against Luke Littler for the nightly win on Night Two of the 2025 Premier League Darts in Glasgow, following a 6-4 victory over Gerwyn Price in the second semifinal of the evening.
To reach this stage, both players had to come through a real battle. Price eventually saw off Nathan Aspinall 6-4 to get his first points on the board, whilst Humphries saw off Chris Dobey by the same scoreline in a repeat of last week's final in Belfast.
Price has been reinvigorated over recent weeks, taking a first ranking title since 2023 on the Pro Tour earlier this week. The Iceman started off hot in this one too, breaking the Humphries throw in the opening leg with a roof-raising 110, letting put a big roar to celebrate too. Humphries though, wasn't taking that laying down and fired straight back with a massive tops-tops 134 checkout of his own to immediately level things back up.
After Price missed darts for another break of throw, it seemed as if the Welshman had missed a big chance and Humphries made it 2-1. As the Glasgow crowd threaten to get on Price's back, he fired in a 180 and hilariously whistled back at the crowd in response. A few moments later he was back level at 2-2.
In leg 5, it was then Humphries turn to miss, as five darts for a 3-2 lead went begging for the World number one and Price punished. A second 110 finish then saw Price get two legs in front for the first time in the contest. Back came Humphries again though, holding throw and then levelling in style with a 105 finish for 4-4.
With two double 18s helping the world number one checkout 79 in the next leg, Humphries moved one away. Despite Price putting pressure on with a 180, Humphries pinned double 18 again in the next leg to bag a 6-4 victory.

- Likewise, I have always been a fan of Mervyn and with this worry on his mind, it explains why his form and ranking plummeted. It is really sad to hear this, often chatted to Mervyn and Tracey during the Lakeside days, both are lovely people. It does seem naive not acknowledging the fact it was earnings, surely there must be others in the same situation. - What’s with the dogs element to this story, trying to pull at the heart strings? Just goes to show that being a good dart player does not equate to being that bright. Seriously, ‘I thought you didn’t have to pay tax on winnings’ , your a pro dart player and its your line of work, your not playing the lottery or placing a bet. I think it was Phil Taylor who said you should put a third to one side of all winnings into a bank account, obviously Merv was wearing his earplugs at the time.Mysstree10-03-2025
- The thing is... the folks who "humiliated" Taylor in the Seniors Events never really achieved anything in the important events - like Taylor did. Taylor had/has nothing to prove... and beating Taylor after he had retired is of zero value. Taylor in his prime would have made easy work of all of them. Cheers.MrYnyslas197107-03-2025
