Luke Littler dominantly dispatches Michael van Gerwen to reach Night 2 final of 2025 Premier League Darts in Glasgow

Luke Littler has become the first man through to the Night Two final at the 2025 Premier League Darts, after a dominant 6-2 victory over Michael van Gerwen in Glasgow. In the final later tonight, either Gerwyn Price or Luke Humphries now awaits.

Earlier in the night, both players had sealed their spot in the semi-finals in contrasting wins. Littler had to fight back from the brink to defeat Rob Cross, winning the last five legs of the match to snatch a 6-5 victory from the jaws of defeat. Van Gerwen meanwhile, had an easier time of things, racing to a dominant 6-1 success over Stephen Bunting, averaging over 109 in the process too.

Last week, Van Gerwen defied a 114 averaged from Littler to get the win. It didn't take long for the sparks to start flying here either as Littler fired in a 180 en route to breaking the Van Gerwen throw in the opening leg of the match. Despite Van Gerwen hitting a first 180 of his own in leg 2, Littler doubled his early lead with a 13-darter. Van Gerwen was waiting on tops to get on the board in leg 3, but didn't get the opportunity as Littler fired in a spectacular 115 for a third straight leg.

Another comfortable hold of throw followed for the world champion, pinning double top for a fourth successive leg. Finally though, Van Gerwen did get off the mark in leg 5. As the Dutchman then started the next leg with 5 perfect darts, 'MvG' was growing into the contest. When he missed a dart at bull for the break though, Littler pinned the same centre of the board to halt Van Gerwen's mini-fightback and move to one away from victory at 5-1. Then, it was Littler's turn to fire in 5 perfect darts and although a nine-darter didn't arrive, The Nuke looked set to mop up and secure victory. After missing three darts for the match though, Van Gerwen punished to stay alive. It proved to be nothing more than prolonging the inevitable though, as Littler secured victory 6-2 on tops in the very next leg.
